Pride of the Tide take numerous awards at Officers Camp

The Pride of the Tide Dance Officers attended their annual American Dance/Drill Team School Officer camp in Galveston, Texas
in late July and walked away with numerous awards for their efforts.. The girls did very well receiving all awards given at the camp
during the three day event.
Heather Hall, Alex Parker, Bailey Sims, Emily Ladner, Emily Lander
Monday, the Picayune contingent received All-American Team of the Day, which is an award where other teams
voted in making the selection. Also on Monday, Bailey Sims, Alex Parker, and Heather Hall received personal
Superior awards.
On Tuesday, Emily Lander and Emily Ladner received personal Superior awards while Sims, Parker, and Hall received
personal Outstanding Dance Awards.
On the final day of the camp, the Picayune team continued to receive more awards, including All-American Team of the
Day, All-American Officers of the Week, Home Routine Award, and Most Admired Team of the Week, Best Overall
Choreography, and Best Overall Technique.
Also on Wednesday, personal awards were presented. Competing among 150 girls, the final six were awarded the
title of ADTS Kick Company. Out of the final six chosen, three were from Picayune Pride of the Tide:
Sophomore Alex Parker, Junior Emily Lander, and Senior Bailey Sims. Sims was also awarded the title of 2006
Miss High Kick. Sims, Hall, and Parker were chosen to be part of ADTS Dance Company as well as All American
Dancers. Emily Ladner and Emily Lander were chosen All American Honorable Mention.
Sims received an Outstanding Performer Award. Sims, Landern, Lander, and Parker will use their All American
and Honorable Mention titles to attend the 2006 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The Pride of the Tide Officers are looking forward to a wonderful, successful, and exciting year. They want to take
