Evens Hold Off Odds 4-3 in Alumni Game
'95 Standout Ernie Landrum Shows He's Still Got It
by Carey Meitzler
Picayune hosted their alumni baseball game at the Field of Dreams and those in attendance were treated to an entertaining game
as the Odd years defeated the Even years 4-3. The teams were divided based on the year of graduation by odd and even years.
A few guys showed they can still get it done. Ernie "Dawg" Landrum, 1995 graduate who went on to play at Meridian Community
College, banged out two "rocket shot" hits and caught the full seven innings for the Odds.
Ronnie Reynolds (1987) drove a pitch off the top of the left field wall in his first at bat that plated the first run of the game.
Cory Tate ('95) and Michael Young (2001) pitched for the Odds. For the Evens, Donnie Kellar (2002), Kelly Ray (2004), and
Shawn Grigsby ('96) pitched. Grigsby also turned in some stellar plays at shortstop. Jeffrey Busco ('96) had a single and
retired all three batters with some fine fielding at third base in the 6th inning.
