Picayune sweeps Bay High

The Lady Tide trailed for three quarters, but rallied past Bay High 47-42 for a Division 8-4A win at Kelly Wise Memorial

Gymnasium.   The win improved the Lady Tide to 2-9 overall and 2-1 in Division play.

Trailing 33-29 entering the fourth quarter, Picayune outscored the Lady Tigers 18-9 to take the win and hand Bay High their

first division loss.

Coach Kristi Mitchell was excited to get the win over perennial Division power Bay High, but even more excited about how her

team adjusted in the last quarter.

"We changed things up a little by spreading the floor and it created some easier chances to score.  We also shot the ball a lot

better at the free throw line after struggling there against Long Beach.  I think the girls are catching on to what we need to do

to be successful."

The Lady Tide got balanced scoring once again with Monique Brown tossing in 13 points and Andrea Jackson added 12.

Keona Magee had 8, Karly Moran 7, Hillary Dickens 4, Janaea' Wills 3 (three point basket), and Sharonda Jackson 2.

Picayune will be off until December 29 when they host the Picayune Holiday Tournament.

"I think the time we have until we play again will help us.  We have a few things we need to work on and a few new things

we plan to add.  I like where we are right now after winning these last two division games," said Mitchell.
