Ocean Springs takes two from Picayune

Picayune--Ocean Springs captured both the girls and boys games in the regular season finale for both teams at Kelly Wise
Memorial Gymnasium.
Ocean Springs 53 Maroon Tide 34
The Maroon Tide led 8-6 after one quarter, but was unable to score a point in the second quarter for the second time in as
many games and trailed 18-8 at the half. Trailing 25-13 with 4:35 left in the third, Picayune got a bucket from J.T. Biggs, a
three pointer from Jamal Hall, and four free throws from Vincent Gable to cut it to 25-22 with 2:35 left. After a three pointer
by the Greyhounds' Tim Brown with1:20 to go made it 28-22, Derionne Stewart made one of two free throws and freshman
Nolan Fletcher hit a three pointer to cut it to 28-26 with :40 left in the quarter. After a three pointer by Ocean Springs Craig
McMillan, Stewart scored on an assist from Alvin Richard with :01 left to make it 31-28.

After two free throws by Keith Barnes gave Ocean Springs a 33-28 lead early in the fourth quarter, Jamal Hall hit a
three pointer to cut it to 33-31 with 6:00 left. Ocean Springs then went on a 7-0 run over the next 2 minutes before
Picayune scored on put back from Biggs with 3:33 left. The rest of the quarter saw the Maroon Tide go stone cold
and Ocean Springs got 7 of 8 free throw shooting from Brown to pull away.
Brown had 4 three pointers and his seven free throws to finish with 19 points. McMillan and Alan Howse added
11 points each for the Greyhounds (15-13, 3-3).
Hall led Picayune (11-11, 7-5) with 8 points while Stewart and Biggs each had 7 points.
Ocean Springs 67 Picayune 32
The Lady Greyhounds showed why they were 20-6 overall and undefeated in their region as they ran away from
the Lady Tide. Ocean Springs got 15 points from Brianna Edwards, 12 from Kiah Joiner, 11 from Maria Mayfield,
and 10 from Sharonda Wilson.
Picayune (5-17, 3-3) got 6 points from both Janaea Wills and Keone Magee, and 4 points each from Arianna
McGill, Shoronda Jackson, and Melody McGill.
The Lady Tide recognized their three seniors in the last game at Kelly Wise: Karly Moran, Ebony Jones, and
Janaea Wills.
