Maroon Tide dumps Columbia 77-67

Picayune--The Columbia Wildcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first two minutes, but the Picayune Maroon Tide got untracked
and stormed back to take a 77-67 non-region win at Kelly Wise Memorial Gymnasium.
Junior Jessie Ulmer came off the bench and scored 8 consecutive points in the last 2:28 of the first quarter to give Picayune a
18-12 lead after one period. Picayune led 36-26 at the half.

Junior Chris Dees, who scored 9 points in the third quarter, opened the second half with a monster dunk that sparked the
Maroon Tide to run out to a 59-43 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Picayune (17-2, 4-1) built a 63-43 lead on Ulmer's short jumper with 7:01 left in the game and the Maroon Tide coasted the
rest of the way.
Chris Dees led the Maroon Tide with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Brandon Fortenberry had 12 points and 5 assists.
Wayne Mickel also had 12 points and dished out 4 assists. Ulmer finished with 12 points. Ben Daly had 7 points and
8 rebounds.
Derwin Foxworth paced the Wildcats (10-6) with 21 points.
Columbia 61 Lady Tide 38
The Lady Tide came up short against the Lady Wildcats. Janaea Wills and Jasmine Johnson scored 10 points
each for Picayune (0-17).
