D'Iberville 51 Lady Tide 35
The Lady Tide ran into a very good Lady Warrior team in their Region 8-4A lid lifter and dropped a 51-35 decision.
D'Iberville (7-4, 1-0) used good perimeter ball movement and a strong inside game from Raquel Burney to race out to
a 33-19 halftime lead.
Burney, who finished with a game high 14 points and 12 rebounds, blocked 11 shots that made the going tough for the Lady
Tide in the lane the entire night.
Picayune (7-5,0-1) cut the lead to 37-30 on an Ebony Jones three pointer with 3:35 left in the third quarter, but Burney
scored off an offensive rebound and Kaci Burkhalter followed with a layup off a steal to push the lead back to 41-30
with 1:25 left in the third.
D'Iberville slowed down the tempo in the fourth quarter and got three layups from Burney to pull away.
Monique Brown led Picayune with 12 points and Jones finished with 8 points, including two 3 pointers.
Burkhalter scored 12 points for D'Iberville.

Janea Wills (center) and Karly Moran (12) try to keep Raquel Burney (35) from getting a pass from a Lady Warrior.
