Picayune sweeps Fontainebleau to close out Holiday Tournament

The Lady Tide jumped out to a 10-0 lead and led by as many as 16 points in the second half in defeating
Fontainebleau (LA) 39-31 in the Picayune Holiday Tournament played at Kelly Wise Memorial Gymnasium.
Monique Brown paced the Lady Tide (10-6, 1-2) with 16 points. Karly Moran and Ebony Jones each added 7 points.
Autumn Jackson had 5 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Jennifer Beehler had 15 points for the Lady Bulldoges (7-12).

Maroon Tide 68 Fontainebleau 54
Brandon Fortenberry poured in 24 points for Picayune (14-3, 4-0) in their 68-54 win over Fontainebleau.
Picayune never trailed in the game, but the Bulldogs twice came within a basket of tying the game.
Picayune built a 10 point lead in the second quarter at 28-18 with 5:13 left, but the Bulldogs cut the lead
to 32-30 with 1:15 left on a short jumper by Taylor Hanby. Fortenberry scored with 1:01 left and then
dished out one of his five assists to Justin Smith for a lay up to give Picayune a 36-30 lead at intermission.

Fontainebleau cut the lead to 44-42 on two free throws by Matt Orlando with 1:20 left in the third
quarter, but Fortenberry scored the next seven points of the game to make it 51-42. Jason Green
scored for Fontainebleau to make it 51-44 at the end of the third quarter.
Picayune pulled away midway through the quarter on two consecutive three point plays by Fortenberry.
Chris Dees added 13 points for Picayune and Justin Smith had 8 points.
Fontainebleau (3-14) was led by Hanby's 15 points. Quinn Cooper had 12 points, Matt Orlando
had 11 points, and Green finished with 10 points.
