Tuesday 1/13/04:
Boys: Picayune 69 Hancock 47
The Tide jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game and never looked back as they kept their Division 5-5A
record perfect at 4-0 and moved to 16-6 overall, with the win. The Tide led 21-9 at the end of the first quarter as Radale Brumfield
pumped in 8 points and Mark Dragon added 5 points to get the Tide rolling early. Picayune led 40-20 at the half. Micah Ladner
had 14 points at halftime for the Hawks, but tough defense from the Tide's "Box and One" defense in the second half limited Ladner
to only a free throw the rest of the way mainly due to the defense of Brumfield. The Tide had five players in double figures.
Brumfield led the way with 15 points and three 3-pointers, Mark Dragon had 14 points with four 3-pointers, Cordell Myles had
14 points and 8 rebounds, Jarvis Dantzler had 11 points and grabbed 8 caroms. Donairies "Dino" Hair had 12 points and 13 rebounds
for the Tide. Manny Jackson added 4 points for the Tide. The Tide will travel to Oak Grove this Friday in another Division 5-5A game.
