Boys: Picayune 73  Oak Grove 69

The Picayune Maroon Tide (17-6 overall, 5-0 in Division 5-5A)  rallied from a 31-26 halftime deficit with a 14-4 run in the opening

minutes of the third quarter to overtake the Warriors and hang on to win at Oak Grove in a game marred by a total of 53 personal fouls. 

The Tide built its biggest lead at 68-60 with 2:39 to play before Oak Grove rallied behind two long range three pointers from Web

Williams and Chad Knight sandwiched around two Tide free throws to close the gap to four points.  The Tide's Manny Jackson and

Radale Brumfield hit some clutch free throws down the stretch to allow the Tide to hang on and win.  On the night, the Tide struggled

at the free throw line missing 17 of 43 attempts from the charity stripe. 

Brumfield led the Tide with 23 points, including 5 three pointers, and Jackson had 21 points with 2 three pointers.  Mark Dragon

finished with 11 points, 4 assists, grabbed 5 rebounds, 4 on the offensive end that led to Tide baskets.  Dragon drew 3 charges on

defense to compliment his all around solid effort for the Tide.  Sophomore Darionne Jones gave the Tide some quality minutes in third

quarter run by the Tide as both Donairies Hair and Tony Foster sat on the bench saddled with three fouls each.   Web Williams, who

had six three pointers on the night, led the Warriors with 22 points in spite of sitting out most of the third period while the Tide made

their run to regain the lead.   Roderick McMillian added 12 points and Sam Blunt had 10 points. 

The Tide will return to action Tuesday in a non-division game as they host the Lumberton Panthers at Kelly Wise.

Girls: Picayune 57  Oak Grove 34

The Lady Tide led 36-17 at the half and were never threatened as completed a sweep of their games against the Lady Warriors.  

Ashley Bell paced the Tide with 23 points followed by Dedrea Magee with 11 points.  Breonne Spikes chipped in 8 points and

Toi Jones had 7 points.
