Picayune JV Boys  58   Harrison Central 53  (5 overtimes)

In one of the most entertaining games ever played at Kelly Wise Gymnasium, the Junior Varsity Boys had to go five

overtimes before outlasting the Red Rebels.  The game was tied at the end of regulation at 43-43.  In the 5th OT,

Darionne Jones hit a jumper with :39 left to put the Tide up 55-53.  Moments later, Alan Moran stole the ball from the

Red Rebels and converted a layup with :06 left to give the Tide a 57-53 lead.  Jones would add a free throw with :01

to play for the final count.   Moran led the Tide with 14 points and Jones finished with 12 points.  Randy "Rooster" Perkins

knocked in 12 points, Demarcus Barnes and Chazz "Cheezie" Hawkins added 9 points each.

Lady Tide 39   Harrison Central 33

The Lady Tide defeated the 12th ranked Red Rebelletes in what may be a preview of first round playoff action in two weeks.

With the Tide leading 33-32, Alisin Robinson scored the Tide's next four points on short jump

shots after she pulled down offensive rebounds to put the Tide up 37-32 and they held on for the win.

Maroon Tide 63   Harrison Central 55

Behind ten (10) points from Radale Brumfield, the Tide raced to a 20-9 first quarter advantage only to see the Red Rebels go

on a 15-6 run to open the 2nd quarter and trim the Tide lead to 26-24 with 3:42 left before halftime. But Coach Dean Shaw

called a timeout, settled down his troops, and they responded with a 9-2 run of their own to lead 35-26 at the break.

Harrison Central went on a 12-2 run in the third quarter and led 38-37 with 3:07 left in the quarter. Once again the Tide responded

to the challenge and regained the lead at 42-40 at the end of the third quarter.

The last stanza was a back and forth affair before the Tide broke a 50-50 tie on a Radale Brumfield 3-pointer. Next, Cordell

Myles raced down an errant Red Rebel pass in front of the Tide bench and found Jarvis Dantzler streaking down the right side

of the court for a layup and a 55-50 lead with 2:22 to play.  After a Harrison Central free throw, Myles drove the baseline and

knocked in a layup to put the Tide up 57-51 with 1:37 to play.  The Red Rebels then resorted to fouling the Tide and put the Tide

on the free throw line.  Radale Brumfield made two free throws for a 59-51 lead.  However, in the final 1:33, the Tide missed six

(6) consecutive free throws before Mark Dragon made his two attempts with :08 to play to seal the victory.

Radale Brumfield finished with 26 points including six 3-pointers. Brumfield also did a number on defense against the Red Rebels

leading scorer, Prince Holmes, holding him to 7 points on the night.  Donairies Hair had 15 points and

12 rebounds for the Tide.  Mark Dragon finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Tide.

Cordell Myles chipped in 8 points for the Tide.
