Free throws and a red-hot James Causey rallied Kentwood (La.) to a 68-60 win Tuesday over Picayune. Causey, one of the
top prospects in Louisiana, poured in a game-high 30 points to lead the Kangaroos back from a 31-19 halftime deficit. Kentwood,
which nailed seven 3-pointers in the second half, also hit 12-of-14 free throws in the third and fourth quarter, while Picayune
managed just 6-of-15 from the free throw line in the game. The Maroon Tide (18-9) held a five-point lead going into the final
period. Donaries Hair led Picayune with 17 points, while Jarvis Dantzler added 13 and Cordale Myles finished with 12 points.
Girls: Picayune 60, Kentwood, (La.) 40
Breonne Spikes pumped in 20 points and Dedra Magee added 19 in leading the Lady Tide
(18-7) to the road win. Picayune led 26-18 at the half.
The Tide and Lady Tide will resume play Tuesday, February 10th, as the host the Harrison Central Red Rebels and Rebelletes at
Kelly Wise Gymnasium in Picayune.
