Division 6-5A Tournament
Girls: Picayune 58 Stone County 43
Trailing 24-17 at the half, the Lady Tide outscored Stone County 18-2 in the third quarter
and coasted to a 58-43 win to advance to the Division 6-5A championship game against
Wayne County on Friday at 6:00pm in Picayune's Kelly Wise Memorial Gymnasium.
Andrea Jackson, still nursing a sore ankle that she injured 10 days earlier, poured in 26 points to lead the
Lady Tide. Mel McGill added11 points and 5 assists. Keanna Magee and Tee Myers added 7 points each
and Myers also snatched 11 rebounds. Shoronda Jackson scored 3 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for
Picayune (16-9).
Seymone Tillman had 21 points for Stone County and Amanda Evans added 9 points.

Boys: Stone County 76 Picayune 71
Leading 27-25 at the half, Stone County rallied past Picayune to take a 42-35 after three quarters.
Stone pushed the lead to 12 points in the fourth quarter, but Picayune rallied to within 74-71 with :12
left on Scottie Merrill's three point play. However, Scott Thames layup with :05 left sealed the win
for Stone County.
Merrill lead Picayune(12-12) with 17 points while Vincent Gable added 11 points, all in the
last 11 minutes of the game.
Stone County got 24 points from Jarel Shelby and Tyree McDonald added 20 points.
Scott Thames added 11 points for Stone.
