Bay High drops Maroon Tide 53-44

Lady Tide loses to Bay High 62-37

Bay St Louis-- Picayune's basketball teams lost their Region 8-4A games at William Seymour Gymnasium as the

homestanding Tigers turned the tables on the Maroon Tide & Lady Tide who had swept the previous meetings

at Picayune earlier in the season.

The Maroon Tide battled through early foul trouble to hang close with the Tigers, but Bay High held off  Picayune to

win their sixth game in a row by a score of 53-44.   The Tigers (12-10, 6-3) took sole possesion of second place

in Region 8-4A with the victory.

Picayune led 3-2 on Lloyd Hall's three pointer and again at 11-9 on a short jumper by Hall with 3:21 left, but that would

be the last time they would lead as the Tigers rallied to lead 17-13 after one quarter.  Early in the second quarter, the Maroon

Tide only trailed 21-17 after Jamal Hall's layup with just under five minutes left.  However, Bay High went on a 9-0 run to

build a 30-17 advantage.   Lloyd Hall hit another three point shot with 2:35 to go and Derionne Stewart converted one of two

free throws with :06 left to make the half time score 30-21.

Plagued by foul trouble involving Lloyd Hall and Vincent Gable, Picayune was unable to make any headway in the third

quarter as each team scored just four points.  Picayune held the ball for the last two plus minutes of the quarter and Jamal

Hall scored with :01 left to make it 34-25.

In the fourth quarter, Gable fouled out with 6:44 to play finishing with just three points for the game.  Lloyd Hall would bring the

Maroon Tide to within 37-32 with 3:58 left in the game when he scored off an offensive rebound.  But the Tigers slowly pulled

away making 5 of 6 free throws and getting lay ups from Devon Narcisse and Alonzo Artis over the next two minutes to build

a 46-34 lead.

Bay High got 13 points from Courtney Easley and 12 points from Narcisse.  Artis chipped in 9 points.

Lloyd Hall finished with 17 points and Jamal Hall added 13 points for Picayune (9-10, 5-4).

Bay High 62   Lady Tide 37

Bay High used a balanced scoring to take a 62-37 win over the Lady Tide.  The Lady Tigers led 14-6 after the

first quarter and 31-13 at the half.

Crystal Hawkins had 19 points including 3 three pointers.  Kristina Lyons had 17 and Rebecca Resor finished

with 16 points for the Lady Tigers (13-7, 5-2).

Monique Brown paced Picayune (5-13, 3-4) with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.
