Lady Tide drops FCAHS 56-38

After losing a close game in their home opener on Monday night, the Lady Tide got back on the winning track with a 56-38 win

over FCAHS at Kelly Wise Memorial Gymnasium. 

Picayune went on a 16-0 scoring run to open the second quarter and never was threatened. Monique Brown poured in 19

first half points to give Picayune a 39-19 halftime lead.  Brown finished with a game high 21 points.

The Lady Tide built its largest lead, a 50-28 margin, on Autumn Jackson's layup with 1:25 left in the third quarter.  Jackson finished

with 10 points and Lauren Burks tallied 8 points. 

The Lady Tide (5-2) will be at home on Tuesday taking on Lumberton.

The Lady Tide defense held FCAHS scoreless for over five minutes to start the second quarter.

Maroon Tide 74   Northshore (LA)  60

Chris Dees and Reshun Smith got the Maroon Tide off to a good start and Picayune cruised through the first three quarters

and held off a late Northshore surge in posting a 74-60 win at Kelly Wise.

Smith hit two three balls and Dees had 6 points including a dunk to help build a 12-10 lead and Travis Aubin converted

a three point play to end the quarter and give Picayune a 15-10 lead.

The Maroon Tide built a 41-22 halftime lead and 58-37 after three quarters.

Dees led all scorers with 25 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.  Smith tallied 13 points including three 3 pointers and a couple

of nifty driving layups.  Justin Smith and Brandon Fortenberry  each had 9 points,  Ben Daly scored three points and had a team

high 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Picayune (2-0) will play at the Tres Bridges Classic (Albany, La) on Saturday before returning to Kelly Wise on Tuesday for a

game with Lumberton.
