Brady, Slaydon, Griffith ink football scholarships

by Carey Meitzler

Three of Picayune's finest inked scholarships to continue their playing days at Mississippi schools. James Brady, Levi Slaydon,

and Justin Griffith played a large part in leading the Maroon Tide to an 11-1 mark this past fall and helped Picayune advance to

the 3rd round of the Class 4A playoffs before losing to eventual state champion Wayne County.

Brady, a 6-2, 265 pound offensive lineman, will cast his lot with the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Golden Eagles.

He was a first team selection to the Mississippi Association of Coaches team, The Clarion Ledger all state team, and Region

8-4A first team.  Brady will likely play center or guard at USM.
