Maroon Tide trounces Bay High 54-21

Picayune--The Picayune Maroon Tide scored often and early on their way to a resounding 54-21 trouncing of the Bay High

Tigers on Homecoming Night 2007.

On the first play from scrimmage, Caleb Hickman connected with Chris Nixon on a 51 yard pass play putting the ball at the

Tigers 2 yardline.   Albert scored the first of his three touchdowns on the next play.  Matt Dragon's extra point made it 7-0

with 11:28 left on the clock.

After holding the Tigers and forcing a punt, Richard raced in from 23 yards with 5:28 left.  Dragon's conversion made it 14-0.

Bay High's next possession ended on a fourth and goal inside the Maroon Tide 1 yard line.  On first down, Richard broke free

on a 99 yard run.  Dragon converted the PAT for a 21-0 lead with 10:14 left in the second quarter.

Drew Cole had a 16 yard touchdown run on the Tide's next possession.  Kell Goff scored from 1 yard out on the Tide's

last possession of the half for a 35-0 lead.  Dragon's PAT, his 26th in a row for the season, closed out the first half scoring.

Hickman threw a 16 yard touchdown pass to Gabe Hinojosa with 9:10 left in the third quarter for a 42-0 lead

Wayne McMooain scored on a 1 yard keeper, but Leo Gonzalez missed the PAT leaving the score 48-0.

With the Tide substitutely freely, Bay High quarterback Destin Johnson threw a 62 yard touchdown pass to Brandon Harris.

Johnson scored on a 1 yard run and Josh Hawkins score from 9 yards out for Bay High.

Terrance McCann had a 9 yard touchdown run for Picayune's last score.

Picayune (6-1, 4-0) travels to Long Beach next week for a 7:00pm kickoff.
