Tide wins Division 8-4A opener with 66-15 win over PRC

Picayune often and early in taking a 66-15 win over Pearl River Central in the Maroon Tide's opening game in Division 8-4A.
Gabe Hinojosa scored from 12 yards out on the Tide's first possesion that capped off a 7 play 65 yard drive with 8:56 left in
the first quarter.
Picayune's T'Daryl Grays intercepted a pass on PRC's first play from scrimmage at the Blue Devil 38 yard line and returned it
to the 24 yard line.

Cale Goff scored four plays later from 13 yards out with 7:19 on the clock. Matt Dragon kicked the extra
point on both scores.

The Maroon Tide got the ball back after forcing a PRC punt. Starting from the PRC 39 yard line, it took Picayune three plays
to score with the touchdown coming on a fade pass to Chris Nixon from 15 yards. Dragon's PAT was good for a 21-0 lead
with 3:24 left in the first quarter.
Hickman threw another touchdown pass to Nixon in the second quarter, this time good for 20 yards with 6:03 left on the clock.
Dragon kicked the PAT for a 28-0 lead.

Albert Richard scored on the Tide's next possession on a 17 yard scamper and Dragon's PAT was good for a 35-0 lead.
Leo Gonzalez kicked a 32 field goal as time expired in the half to push the margin to 38-0.
Gabe Hinojosa scored his second touchdown with a 37 yard run as he broke three tackles on his way to the end zone.
Gonzalez kicked the extra point for a 45-0 lead with 2:50 left in the quarter.
PRC scored on their next possession on a Josh Lee run from 1 yard out. Blake Herrin ran in the two point conversion
after the snap was high and Herrin out ran the Tide defenders to the pylon to make it 45-8.
Jacob Kennedy threw two touchdowns as he came on for Hickman. The first touchdown was a 10 yard pass to
Matt Dragon. Gonzalez point after attempt was wide right. The second touchdown pass went to Jonathan Moore
for 26 yards. Gonzalez made the point after for a 58-8 lead.
Jabbar Locure scored for PRC from 35 yards out and Brady Jordan kicked the point after touchdown to make the
score 58-15.
Picayune's Ignatius Robertson scored on a 1 yard run with :24 left. The snap on the point after was high and Caleb
Hickman ran to the left corner of the end zone for the two point conversion to make the final 66-15.
Hickman was 6 of 12 in passing with 103 yards and two touchdowns.
Picayune (3-1, 1-0) will host Poplarville next week while Pearl River Central (1-4, 0-2) will travel to Bay High.
