Drew Cole commits to Auburn

Picayune's Drew Cole, who will be a senior this coming fall, has verbally committed to play at Auburn University in 2008. 

Auburn and Mississippi State offered scholarships to Cole, and Ole Miss and LSU also expressed interest.

Cole will be the third family member to play in the SEC next year. His older brother, senior-to-be tight end Mit Cole,

started three games at LSU. Cole's father, Hoppy Cole, lettered at Ole Miss from 1980-82 and starred at Pascagoula.

Last season, the 6-foot-1 Cole had 51 total tackles, broke up 10 passes, and had one interception at cornerback.

He rushed for 10 touchdowns on 83 rushes for 587 yards at running back and caught 4 passes for 30 yards.
