Maroon Tide rolls past Pearl River Central 56-17

Picayune--Jamal Hall ran for 5 touchdowns and 218 yards in the first half and Picayune rolled to their sixth consecutive win with
a 56-17 victory over the Pearl River Central Blue Devils.
Picayune scored on thier first two possessions with Hall scoring from 1 and 3 yards out and Pacer Frierson kicking the extra
points for a 14-0 lead.
Pearl River Central got on the scoreboard when Bryce Spence busted loose and rambled 81 yards for a touchdown. Tyler
Chambers converted the point after to make it 14-7 with 1:23 left in the quarter.
The Blue Devils got the ball back on the ensuing kickoff when they recovered a fumble at the Maroon Tide 43. The Blue Devils
settled for a 18 yard field goal from Chambers.
Picayune's next three possessions ended in touchdowns as Hall scored from 48, 1, and 46 yards to push the lead to 35-10.
The Maroon Tide pushed the lead to 42-10 at the half on Chris Burton's 10 yards out with :21 left.
In the second half, Picayune backup quarterback DaKeith Burton threw a 40 yard touchdown pass to Justin Mark with
:30 left in the third quarter.
Pearl River Central countered with Chase Thigpen's 4 yard touchdown run with 7:39 left in the fourth quarter.
Picayune closed out the scoring with Scottie Merrill's 1 yard run with 4:52 left.
Merrill finished with 124 yards on 13 carries in the second half filling in for Hall.
Bryce Spence had 106 yards on 16 rushes and Chase Thigpen added 31 yards on 8 totes.
Picayune (6-2, 5-0) will travel to SoSo to play top-ranked West Jones while PRC will host Wayne County.
