Picayune 7th & 8th Maroon Tide Wins Both Games Over PRC

7th Grade:  Picayune 36  PRC  0

Josh Hart returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown to set the tone early for Picayune.

Wayne McMooain added a 40 yard scamper and a 60 yard scamper to pace the Tide to a 20-0

halftime lead.  Josh Hart ran in a 2pt conversion after McMooain's first score.

Hart sprinted 38 yards for a score in the third quarter and Jessie Patton added the 2pt run for a

28-0 lead.

Chris Burton closed out the scoring with a 8 yard run in the fourth quarter and Matt Archer ran in

the 2pt conversion to make the final 36-0.

8th Grade:  Picayune 38  PRC  14

Gabe Hinojosa ran the opening kickoff to the PRC 40 yard line and then carried it to the

18 yard line on the first play from scrimmage.  On the next play, Anthony Jones raced in

for the touchdown and the Tide never looked back.  Hinojosa ran in the 2pt conversion

for a 8-0 lead with 7:33 left on the first period clock.

The Tide's Jerrick Goff recovered a PRC fumble in the endzone for the Tide's second

touchdown. Josh Nixon added the 2pt conversion for a 16-0 advantage with 2:54 left in

the quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, Jones ran 40 yards for a touchdown for a 22-0

halftime lead as the Blue Devils stopped the 2pt conversion attempt.

Early in the fourth quarter, PRC put up a goal line stand by stopping the Tide inside

the 1 yard line. On the first play after the change of possession, PRC's Jabbar LeCour

raced 99 yards for a touchdown to make the score 22-6 as the 2pt try failed.

Picayune's TeDarrell Gray scored from 14 yards out and Josh Nixon ran in the 2pt

conversion for a 30-6 lead with 4:01 left in the game.

With 1:22 left in the game, Hinojosa bulled his way through the PRC defense for

49 yard run. Jonathan Smith added the 2pt run for a 38-6 lead.

PRC's Blake Herrin, who had several passes dropped by his receivers on the night,

hooked up with Josh Taggert for a 65 yard touchdown pass with :28 left to play. 

LeCour ran in the 2pt conversion to make the final score 38-14.
