Tide Players Headed to The River

In 2004, Tim Hatten produced a JUCO National Championship at Pearl River Community College (PRCC) and in

doing so propelled twenty-two (22) players on to NCAA scholarships and possibly one to the NFL.  Today, PRCC

looked to Picayune's successful high school program to bolster their lot of players by signing four (4) Maroon Tide

players to scholarships. 

Signing scholarships with The River were:

• Scott Hillery, 5-8, 160, wide receiver/place kicker who also played some at defensive

back, was a mainstay catching and kicking for the Tide since his sophomore season.

• Kevin Parker,  6-3, 265, missed the first five weeks of 2004 recovering from a spring training injury, was a

two year starter at offensive tackle.

• Jeffrey Stewart, 6-3, 270, was an integral part of the Tide on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

• Donel Smith, 6-1, 210, offensive/defensive lineman who was instrumental in the Tide's running game

and became a force at defensive end in 2004.  Smith possesses exceptional speed for a lineman.
