PRC holds off Lady Tide 8-6

Carriere--Picayune fell to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in division play with a 8-6 loss at

Pearl River Central. 

The game was scoreless until the 5th as Picayune marked  first.  Megan Maximo

led off  with a bunt single, but was thrown out at second base after the first baseman

misplays the ball.  Mallorie Mixon then singled and one out later

scored on a triple by Katie Hebert.  Hebert, Picayune's starting pitcher, is removed

from the game after she appears to have knee trouble.  Hillary Dickens takes over on

the mound and PRC capatilized on 7 walks, one hit by pitch, a Lady Tide error and

one hit to score 8 runs in the inning. 

Picayune responds in the sixth as Hillary Dickens and Taylor Seals hit consecutive

singles and move up one base on a pass ball.  Maximo walks to load the bags. 

Mallorie Mixon hits into a fielders choice to plate Dickens.  Katie Kent then hits a

sharp single to score Seals and Maximo.  Dickens and the Tide defense held PRC

scoreless in the 6th. 

Picayune managed two more in the 7th with one out Brandi Rabion singled and

scored on a double from Hillary Dickens.  Dickens then scored on a fielders

choice from Seals.

Picayune will travel to Pass Christian on Thursday for a varsity only game at 6:00pm.
