by  Carey Meitzler

Picayune-- The Lady Tide spotted the visiting Columbia Wildcats two unearned runs in the top of the first inning then stormed

back to take a 10-4 non-region game.

Trailing 2-0, Picayune's Tiffany Reed bases loaded double scored Mallorie Mixon and Katie Kent who had reached on a

hit-by-pitch and a wild pitch on the third strike.  Taylor Seals, who had reached on a bunt single prior to Reed's double,

Mallorie Mixon blasted this pitch for a triple and scored when a relay throw went astray.

Picayune added two runs in the third on RBI singles from Rabion and Devore to extend the lead to 5-2.

In the fourth inning, Mixon reached on an error, moved to second on Katie Kent's sacrifice bunt, moved to

third on a wild pitch, and then scored on Taylor Seals' ground out to short to make it 6-2.

The Lady Tide put the game away with a 4-run fifth highlighted by Mallorie Mixon's triple that drove in courtesy

runner Brooke Meitzler.  Mixon was able to score on her hit when a relay throw from the outfield was overthrown

at third base.  Brooke Ladner had a sacrifice fly to drive in Rabion who had singled and moved to third on a

slap-hit single by Devore.

Jessie Frierson got the win for Picayune in the circle.

Picayune hosts Stone County and their stand out pitcher Heather Beasley on Thursday in non-region action.

Tiffany Devore "slap hits" an infield single that drove in Brandi Rabion from third base.
