Frierson and Seals lead Lady Tide past PRC 9-3

Carriere--Jessie Frierson pitch one of her best games this season and Taylor Seals had five hits to lead the Lady Tide past
Pearl River Central 9-3 in Region 8-4A fast pitch action at the Pearl River Central Sports Complex.
Seals staked the Lady Tide to a 1-0 lead with a one-out home run over the left field fence in the top of the first.
Hillary Dickens was hit by a pitch and scored on Brandi Rabion's single to center field for a 2-0 lead.

Taylor Seals launches her second inning home run.
Picayune got three runs in the second. Brooke Ladner reached on an error with one out. Katie Kent dinked a single to left
and Tiffany Devore slapped a single between short stop and third to score Ladner. With two outs, Seals ripped a single to
left scoring Kent and Devore for a 5-0 lead.

Picayune got two more runs in the fourth when Devore reached on an infield single and moved to second on Mallorie
Mixon's sacrifice bunt. Seals singled again, this time to center field, scoring Devore. Natassia Poole came on as a
courtesy runner and stole second base. Poole scored on a Blue Devil throwing error on Tiffany Reed's grounder to
make it 7-0.
Frierson retired the first 12 batters she faced and in that stretch made some good plays herself and also got solid
defense from her teammates on some sharply hit balls by the Lady Blue Devils.

Brooke Ladner singles in the sixth inning.
The Lady Blue Devils got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Brooke Serpas broke up the perfect game
with a sharp single to center. She moved to second on a ground out. Rocky Beech walked. and Devin Pruitt
singled to center scoring Serpas. On the play, the Lady Tide throw from the outfield ended up in the dug out
allowing Beech to score making it 7-2 and putting Pruitt on third base. Pruitt then scored on Shelby Lott's ground
out to make the score 7-3.
Picayune added two runs in the sixth. Seals singled to left and Poole continued her busy night as the courtesy runner.
Dickens singled to center and was replaced by pinch runner Brooke Meitzler. Both runners moved up one base on
a wild pitch. Reed then hit a fly ball behind first base that fell in for a double allowing Poole and Meitzler to score.
Frierson allowed just two hits, struck out four, and walked two batters to notch the win.
Picayune banged out 17 hits with Seals pounding a home run, a double, and three singles while driving in four runs.
Rabion and Devore had three hits apiece for the Lady Tide (8-10, 1-4).
