Krystal Penton earned her first win on the mound as the Lady Tide got back to their winning ways. The Lady

Tide pounded out 15 hits to score 20 runs in 6 innings and earned their first district win of the season.
      Picayune got things going early as Krystal Penton and Hope Guidry both singled to start the top of the first

inning.  Penton scored on Amanda Feeley's hard hit ball that was mishandled by the second baseman and Guidry

later scores on a fielders choice by Malissa Fowler.

     The Lady Tide was able to hold the Tigers scoreless in the first and punch the score to 4-0 in the second.

Amanda Stevens led the inning off as she reached on an error by the shortstop, but was forced out on a fielders

choice by Kristin Fleming. Fleming moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a line drive to right field by

Tara Dunn.    Krystal Penton then singled to score Dunn to close out the scoring as the Tide would leave Penton

and Guidry standing on first and third.

    The Lady Tigers of caught fire in the third as they score 6 runs to go ahead of Picayune 6-4 and remain in the
lead until the 5th inning when the Lady Tide rattled their bats.  Feeley, Spikes and Fowler all singled to load the

bases. The Hattiesburg left fielder mishandles a hard hit ball from Allison Bynum that allows Feeley to score and

senior Amanda Stevens tons a three run triple to the left field fence. Stevens then scores on a single by Fleming to

put the Tide up 9-6. With one out in the top of six the Tide loads the bags as Spikes, Fowler, and Bynum walk. 

Amanda Stevens then follows with a two run single.  Fleming singles and Tara Dunn draws a walk to load the bases.

Penton walks to force a run in to make the score 13 - 6.  Hope Guidry steps to the plate with bases loaded and sends

a three run triple over the head of the centerfielder to close out the scoring 16- 6.

   The Lady Tide managed three more runs in the sixth on a wild pitch and a two run single by Allison Bynum. The
Tigers rounded out their scoring in the sixth with 4 runs but the Lady Tide was able to close out the inning with a ten

run lead to end the game.

The Lady Tide (5-7-1, 1-2) returns to action Thursday, when they will host the Lady Warriors of Oak Grove in a

varsity only match at 6:00pm.
