The Lady
Tide held PRC scoreless through three innings while scoring 15 runs of their
own to
defeat the Lady Devils 15 - 0 in the first game at the PRC Tournament.
Courtney Dickens lead the Lady Tide onslaught with two singles, 3 runs scored
and 3 RBIs.
Dickens managed to reach first base on a dropped third strike to start off the
first inning. Amanda Feeley
followed with a single and Krystal Penton drew a walk to load the bags. Breonne
Spikes drew a bases loaded
walk to score Dickens.
With one out in the 2nd Kristin Fleming was hit by a pitch, then Dickens and
Feeley walked to load the bases.
Krystal Penton hit a fielders choice that forced Fleming out at the plate. The catcher tried to complete a double
play at
first, but her throw sailed into into right field which allowed Dickens, Feeley
and Penton to score.
The Tide sent 15 batters to the plate in the 3rd inning of which 11 would eventually
score.
Freshman Kasey Mitchell allowed 3 hits, 1 walk and had one strike out in the
game.
