Krystal Penton pitched a gem of a game and Allison "Dink" Bynum carried the golden stick, but it was just not

enough for the Lady Tide as Bay High scored two runs in the top half of the 8th inning to defeat homestanding

Picayune 5-3.

   The Lady Tide was first to put a run on the board as Krystal Penton reached base on a hard hit ball to the

shortstop.  She advanced to third on two consecutive wild pitches and later scored on a RBI single from Hope

Guidry to make it 1-0.

   Bay High managed to get one run in the 2nd inning as the lead off batter reached on a walk and eventually

scored on two hits from Bay High to make it a 1-1 game.

  Bynum, who had four hits on the night, led off the 2nd inning with a single and scored on a stand up

double to centerfield by Amanda Stevens.  Stevens then scored when Kristin Fleming lined one between

the short stop & 3rd baseman to put the Tide up by a score of 3-1.

   Bay High came back and knotted the score at 3 and it remained that way until the top of the 8th. With

two outs, the Lady Tigers capitalized on two Lady Tide errors and a hit to score two runs to go ahead 5 -3.

The Lady Tide was unable to score in the bottom of the eighth.

The Lady Tide returns to action today (Friday) as they travel to Oak Grove.
