The Lady Tide won their second game of the year with a 10-0 five-inning decision
over Poplarville behind the strong pitching of freshman Kasey Mitchell. Mitchell allowed
only 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out one in recording her second win in as many games.

The Lady Tide wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard as sophomore Courtney
Dickens led off the bottom half of the first with a stand up double. She advanced to third
and then scored on consecutive passed balls. Krystal Penton reached on an error advanced
to second on a passed-ball and scored
on Amanda Feeley's single. Hope Guidry and
Amanda Stevens both followed with singles and Kristin Fleming drew a walk to
score Feeley
to make it 3-0.
In the 2nd inning, Breonne Spikes and Amanda
Feeley reached on errors. Amanda
Stevens singled to plate Spikes. Hope Guidry then delivered a single to drive in two more runs.
The Lady Tide added another run in the third when Dickens walked and eventually scored on
a fielder choice off the bat of Feeley to make it 7-0.
The Lady Tide closed out the scoring in the fifth. Dickens drew a walk and was followed
by a single off the bat of Penton. Spikes walked and then Feeley delivered a three run triple
to right field to clear the bases and
end the game.
Catcher Kristin Fleming had a great game throwing
behind the plate as she threw out
two runners attempting to steal.
