PMHS NJROTC extends their community service all the way to Henleyfield
Just recently, the NJROTC of Picayune took a patriotic trip to Wheat Cemetary,
which is one of the oldest cemeteries in Mississippi.
The American Legion Post 73, and VFW Post 3804 donated the flag pole
and the PMHS NJROTC put the flag pole in the ground and donated the
flag for the cemetery. A small flag raising was performed by the cadets to
honor those veterans from the American Revolution, War of 1812, and the
Civil War. This moment in time was the first American flag flown over these
freedom fighter's graves. The cadets left the grave site with a great
appreciation for those who fought for them and a sense of gratitude of
such a giving community service project.
