Lady Tide Does Well in Season Openers at Poplarville Tournament

The Lady Tide Soccer team kicked off their 2005-2006 season by participating in the Poplarville Tournament

this past Saturday at Pearl River Community College. The Lady Tide began the tournament by playing a very

good East Central team.

The East Central team scored first off a penalty kick in the first half to take a 1-0 lead.  The Lady Tide fought

their way back in the second half with their only goal coming from Breeana Fortenberry to tie the game at 1-1.

The Lady Tide had several opportunities to score with 8 shots on goal. The Lady Tide's goalie Jamie Sanders

had a fantastic game with 11 saves.

 

 

Picayune 6  Poplarville 0

Lady Tide's second game was against the Poplarville Lady Hornets that saw the Lady Tide take a 6-0 victory.

The score at the half was 3-0 with a goals being scored by Ana Lee, Breeana Fortenberry, and Mallorie Mixon.

The Lady Tide came out strong in the second half with Mallorie Mixon assisting on a goal to Breeana

Fortenberry. Ana Lee had the second score of the half with a blazing goal. The final score of the game from

seventh grader Jessica Frierson. The Lady Tide's defense was solid during both games with an outstanding

The Lady Tide (1-0-1) will be back in action Tuesday night when they travel to Gautier to take on the Lady

Gators. The game begins at 5:30.
