Picayune Boys and Girls Fall to Oak Grove's Highly Touted Teams

Boys: Oak Grove 3 Picayune 1
The 8th ranked Warriors opened the scoring when their right wing got the ball deep into the
corner and crossed to an unmarked forward for the first goal. Late in the first half the Warriors
got two more scoring opportunities and made them both count. The first goal came on a corner
kick deflected off a Tide defender and into the net. The second netter occurred when a Tide
defender slipped and fell down allowing the Warrior forward to get an easy breakaway.
Picayune got the only goal of the second half when 8th grader Derek Everett took a nice through
ball from Mitchell Jacobs and beat the Warrior goalie to the far post.
The Picayune defense shut down Oak Grove, in the second half, behind some strong goal keeping
from Kaleb Raybon.
