Picayune 5
Bay High 2
Contributed by Bill Hillery
Picayune was just too fast for Bay High Friday night defeating them 5-2 in
non district Soccer action.
Scott Hillery opened the scoring when he took a pass from Joe Burrage and
streaked past the Bay
defense to score an easy one on one goal with the goalie. Britton Fortenberry scored next when he
was fouled in the box and awarded a penalty kick. Britton scored again five minutes later when he
broke away and out ran the defense on a throw-in from Scott Hillery. Late in the 40 minute half,
Bay High scored making it 3-1 at
the half.
Britton Fortenberry opened the second half scoring, completing his hat trick,
when he was again
awarded a penalty kick, after being tripped from behind in the box. Midway through the second
half Bay High scored an easy goal on Picayune keeper Kaleb Raybon when two Picayune
defenders lost their footing and fell down. Scott Hillery completed the scoring on some quick
combination play. Britton sent the ball across the front of the goal to TJ House, whose hard shot
was parried by the Bay High goalie, the rebound went to Hillery who fired the ball home for the
final goal. The game concluded with some rough and sometimes unsportsman like play as the
referee awarded 4 yellow and one
red card in the final 10 minutes to both teams.
In Boys JV Soccer, Picayune defeated Bay 4-0.
