Lady Tide wins 2 at Pete Jackson Tournament in Poplarville

The Picayune Lady Maroon Tide swept games with Purvis and Moss Point on Tuesday

to move their record to 7 wins and 2 losses.

Picayune 5  Purvis 2

The Maroon Tide scored two runs in the first on RBI singles from Brandi Rabion and

Tiffany Reed.  Rabion drove in two more runs in the second frame for the Lady Tide.

Picayune 8  Moss Point 7

The Lady Tide trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the third inning.   Picayune produce

a 5 run third inning to take the lead.  Hillary Dickens doubled and Amanda Green hit a

single pass short to start the inning. The centerfielder mishandled Tiffany Reed's liner

scoring Tiffany Devore (courtesy runner for Dickens).

Taylor Seals lofted a sacrifice fly to left field to plate Green with the third run in the inning. 

Katie Kent roped a single to left field scoring Reed.  Brandi Rabion's bases loaded walk

produced the fifth run.

Moss Point scored two in the fourth and two more in the fifth inning, but the Lady Tide

punched across what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the fourth that gave

them a 8-5 lead at the time.

Picayune will play again on Thursday in the tournament with games at 5:00pm (vs D'Iberville)

and 7:30pm  (vs George County).
