by Carey Meitzler

The  Poplarville Lady Hornets completed a season sweep of Picayune with a 12-1 victory in a

game shortened to five innings due to the ten run rule.

Kayla Ross and a double from Kristin Cuevas. Both scored on a single by Larke Nightengale.

After a fielders choice off the bat of Chelsea Theriot forced Nightengale at second

base, Megan Ladner singled to right and Theriot scored when the ball got pass the Picayune

outfielder.

The Lady Hornets added five runs in the second and four in the fourth.   Picayune scored its lone

run in the bottom of the second when Tiffany Reed singled to right field and eventually scored

on a Poplarville throwing error later in the inning.

Picayune (15-6) will travel to South Jones on Thursday for a Varsity only game at 6:00pm.
