Poplarville tops Lady Tide

The  Poplarvile Lady Hornets stayed undefeated and will remain the number ranked team in

Mississippi after defeating the Lady Tide of Picayune by a score of 14-4.

The Lady Tide scored in the top of the first inning when Brandi Rabion doubled with one out

and scored on Amanda Green's double.  Hillary Dickens singled to plate Green for a 2-0 lead.

After being held scoreless in their first at bat, Poplarville erupted for six runs in the bottom

of the second inning on a triple, a single, two bases loaded walks, and three Lady Tide errors.

The Lady Hornets (14-0) added three more runs in the third and then ended the game with five runs

in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Picayune's other two runs came as a result of a two run home run by Tiffany Reed in the top

of the fourth inning that followed Katie Kent's single.

Picayune (13-4) will host South Jones on Thursday with JV action at 5:30pm and Varsity at 6:30pm.
