Petal tops Lady Tide 5-1 in home opener

Petal scored three runs in the second and two more in the seventh to

drop the Lady Tide 5-1 in Picayune's home opener.

Picayune scored its only run in the bottom of the 4th inning.  Jessica

Rancifer singled to left field and Hillary Dickens followed with a ball

deep in the hole to short that the Panther shortstop was unable to

handle.  After a flyout, Brandi Rabion reached on a base on balls to

load the bases.  Tiffany Reed singled home Rancifer for Picayune's

only run.

The Lady Tide will be at home again on Thursday hosting Biloxi with

JV action at 5:30pm and Varsity to follow at 6:30pm.
