Lady Tide blasts South Jones 13-1

Ellisville--The Picayune Lady Tide clinched a playoff berth with a 13-1 win over the South Jones Lady Braves in Ellisville.
With one out in the top of the first, Brandi Rabion singled to left. One out later, Hillary Dickens drilled a home run over
the left centerfield fence for a 2-0 lead.

South Jones scored a run in the home half of the first, but that's all they could muster against Sarah Dodd.

Leading 3-1, Picayune's Tiffany Reed hit a three-run opposite field homerun to drive in Taylor
Seals and Dickens for a 6-1 lead in the third inning.

In the fifth, Kent walked, Seals doubled and both scored on Dickens double to left center
to make it 8-1.
Mallorie Mixon highlighted the sixth with a three run bomb that bounced off the left field
foul (fair) pole. The other two runs were driven in by a Dickens' sacrifice fly and Reed's
grounder that was mishandled by the Lady Brave second baseman.
Dickens had three hits and five RBIs to pace the Lady Tide offense. Dodd was the
winning pitcher and also helped her own cause with three hits.
The Lady Tide (14-3, 4-1) will close out District play at home on Tuesday hosting Poplarville.
The foul (fair) pole now has a mark from Mallorie Mixon's home run blast.
