Lady Tide pounds McComb; Advances to South State

McComb-- The Picayune Lady Tide swept homestanding McComb 8-2 and 17-4 to advance to the South State Championship
series. The Lady Tide will host the South State Finals on Tuesday against Brookhaven.

Brooke Ladner put the Tide up 1-0 in the 3rd inninng with a solo HR over the left field fence. Jennifer Walker hit a two run HR
in the 5th to score Shalyn Stevens who reached on a fielders choice. Beth Crawford had a 2 run double to score Millie Gill,
running for Hillary Dickens, and T. Myers. Jessica Rancifer and Tiffany Devore reached on singles in the 7th. Hillary Dickens
doubled to score Rancifer and Sarah Dodd hit a double to score Devore.
McComb scored 2 runs on three hits in the 6th.

The Tide used a walk three singles and a few errors by McComb to go ahead 2-0 in the bottom of 1.
D. Farnum, McCombs shortstop hit a grand slam to put McComb up 4-2 in the top of 3. The Tide
answered in the bottom of the inning with 7 runs including a grand slam from Clarissa Jones. The defense
held McComb scoreless the remainder of the game.Tiffany Devore scored on an RBI double from Sarah
Dodd, who scored on a RBI double by Jones.
With two outs and bases loaded in the 5th, Clarissa Jones hit a grand slam to end the game in the mercy rule.
