Lady Tide Wins 10th in a Row Defeating Ocean Springs 8-2

Submitted by Kristi Mitchell

Malissa Fowler used the long ball to put Picayune up for good in their

win against the Ocean Springs Greyhounds as Picayune moved their

record to 10-1 on the season.

The Lady Greyhounds held an early lead until Krystal Penton hit a two

run homerun to move the Lady Tide ahead 3-2. The Lady Tide defense

prevailed again holding the Greyhonds to only two runs off of their 13 hits.

Courtney Dickens and Krystal Penton both singled to start the fifth inning

and Amanda Feeley followed with a double to plate Dickens. One out later,

Breonne Spikes singles to score Penton.  Malissa Fowler stepped to the

plate with runners on first and second and blased a 3 run home run over

the centerfield fence.

The Lady Tide (10-1,1-0) will play their second district game Thursday

at Harrison Central.  Game times are 5:00pm for JV and 6:00pm for the

Varsity.
