Submitted by Kristi Mitchell
Seniors Malissa Fowler and Amanda Feeley spent their final regular season home game
smacking around Harrison Central. The senior duo drove in eight runs on a double, triple and a
pair of homers to lead No. 9 Picayune to a 11-0 route of the Red Rebelettes Thursday at the
Picayune Softball Complex.
Picayune (17-3), finished Division 8-5A undefeated at 4-0.
The Lady Tide, which honored seniors Fowler, Feeley, Hope Guidry, Anissa McDougle and
Krystal Penton prior
to the game, set a goal of going unbeaten in the division.
After Breonne Spikes' two-out RBI-single put Picayune on top in the first inning,
Fowler lined a
two-run triple off the right field fence to make it 3-0.
In the second inning, Courtney Dickens had an RBI-single and Penton drove in a run with a sacrifice
fly. Feeley then belted
her 10th dinger of the season, a two-run shot that made it 7-0.
Feeley also had an RBI-double in the fifth and with two on, Fowler smashed a
homer over the right
field fence that ended the game due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Picayune plays Saturday at Ocean Springs beginning at 11 a.m.
