Picayune 6   Moss Point 1

The Lady Tide rebounded from a loss to the Moss Point Lady Tigers earlier this week to take a 6-1 victory.

The Lady Tigers were the 5th ranked team in the preseason poll released by The Clarion Ledger.

The two teams held each other scoreless in the 1st inning.  Moss Point scratched out one run in the second, but

Picayune answered with a run of their own. Cassie Rabion led off the inning with a double.  Deawn Breland entered

as a courtesy runner for Rabion and scored on a triple by Malissa Fowler. The next three batters went down in order

to end the inning, but the Picayune defense stepped it up to shut down the Moss Point Tigers the remainder of the

game.

Picayune continued their scoring as Amanda Feeley led off the fourth with a solo bomb over the right

centerfield fence. With one out in the fifth Allison Bynum singled and was followed by a double off the bat of pinch hitter

Kellye Bolar setting up runners at 2nd and 3rd. Courntney Dickens then hit a sacrifice fly to score Bynum. Krystal

Penton singled to score Bolar.   Breonne Spikes launched a triple to score Penton and Spikes later scored on a single

by Amanda Feeley.

The Lady Tide will continue play in the Poplarville Tournament meeting the host Lady Hornets of Poplarville at 9:00

and West Marion at  12:00 noon on Saturday  in Poplarville.
