Results from the USM meet

Picayune girls finished 4th out of the 21 teams competing at the USM High School Invitational Track Meet held

Friday April 13th while the boys track team took 5th place out of the 23 teams.

Jasmine Ducre was a first place winner in the 100 and Kymetria Jackson 11th out of the 34 runners.

Ken Breland won the 200 with teammate Dalvin Acker 2nd. Both boys sprint relays won 2nd place.

The 4x1 of Acker,Breland, Talyor, and Cross was nipped by 1/100 of a second and the 4x2 relay of

Breland,Acker,Taylor and Nixon ran a season best while finishing 2nd.

The girls 4x1 of Ducre, Jackson,Richard and Myers ran a season best to take 2nd, also.

Sahara Wilson was 2nd in the discus and Clarissa Jones 4th. Yanni Wills took 3rd in the shot.

Tee Myers had a good day by finishing 2nd in the 300 hurdles, 4th in the 100 hurdles, 8th in the long jump

and running on the 4x1.

Tony Washington ran his 2nd best time of the year in the 400 and took 2nd. Sara Richard finished 6th in the 200.

Ken Breland was 7th in the long jump. Corderous Cross and Coren Nixon was 7th and 8th in the 100.

Coach Todd said about the meet, "I held Jazz (Jasmine) out of the triple jump and 400 to try and get

her sore hamstring ready for the Division meet next week but with those 2 first place finishes and 20 more

points...we would have won the meet with 73.5 points to Hattiesburg's 67.5. But, it's more important to run

good times and finish in the top four to qualify the next 4 weeks. Now, it's all about getting as many people

in the top four these next three weeks to make it through to the state meet."
