Results from the New Orleans Nokia Sugar Bowl Meet

Picayune boys track team finished 12th out of the 40 teams that scored in this meet with 18 points.
Leading the way for the Maroon Tide was Tony Washington by winning the 400 in at fast time of 48.83.
Coren Nixon finished 4th out of 72 in the 200 as did the 4x2 relay of Tony, Coren, Jonathan Baker, and
Tyler Smith. The 4x100 relay was 9th and the 4x4 relay was 13th.
The girls was led by Lacey Polderman with a 6th place in the 400, Quaria "Q" Wilson made it to the
finals in both the 100 and 200 and finished 14th and 17th in those sprints. The 4x2 relay took 12th
out of 35 teams, the 4x1 relay took 11th and the 4x4 relay was 17th. Keira Bell was 9th in the discus.
"Just about everybody that hit the track ran a season best at this meet which is one of the biggest in the
country. You will not see many, if any faster than those at this meet. We usually se a national best at
this meet. Our kids can use this weekend as a springboard for the rest of the season and continue to
get better," Coach Todd stated.
