Picayune Girls win Regional; Boys finish 5th

Long Beach-- Picayune girls track team continued to impress by winning the regional track meet at Long Beach.
Picayune scored 106 points to rally past Long Beach 102, Pascagoula 99 Gautier 78, West Harrison 70,
George Co 58, East Central 8 and Stone 3.
Goula led the Lady Tide by more than 30 points after the field events but the Lady Tide won 6 of
the 11 running events to pull out the win. Long Beach took a 4 point lead after the 800 but Q Wilson
and Sarah Richard went 1st and 2nd in the 200 to seal the win. The 4x4 relay won with their fastest
time of the season, only 3 seconds off the school record but were DQed for a lane violation.
The boys also ran into some bad luck with a DQ after winning the 4x2. The boys finished 5th overall.
Sarah Richard- triple jump
girls 4x1 relay- Wilson, Polderman, Richard, and Jasmon Flowers
girls 4x2 relay- Wilson Polderman, Flowers, and Rekia Telsdale
4x4 relay-Telsdale, Corinne Munson, Kennedi Goff, and Polderman
4x2 relay- Nixon, Tyler Smith, Jonathan Baker, Russell Whitehead
boys 4x4 relay- Caleo Hill, Washington, Jaylin Dees, Abram Fletcher
Ciara Nixon-300 hurdles
boys 4x1 relay- Whitehead, Smith, Baker, Fletcher
Malcolm Rawls-long jump
Nina Moran- 100 hurdles
These athletes qualify for South State Meet May 3rd at Long Beach with the
top 4 making the State Meet the following week
