Picayune sweeps District Track Championships

The boys and girls track teams won the Division 7 5A track championships held at

Long Beach.

The boys scored 92 points to edge West Harrison's 82, Long Beach 71 and Stone 6.

With 4 races to go, Picayune trailed W.H. 69 to 71 but had 3 firsts and one 2nd to

rally for the win.

The girls and Long Beach were tied with 77 points with 2 events to go and finished

1st-2nd in the 200 and 2nd in the 4x4 relay to edge out Long Beach 91 to 86 with

W.H. 66 and Stone 8.
The boys totaled 10 firsts with 9 wins coming in the 11 running events to go with

the 3 seconds, 5 thirds, and 2 fourths while the girls tallied 7 firsts, 5 seconds,

6 thirds, and 4 fourths.
